I was supposed to go at three months and forgot!

I've been very satisfied with my weight loss--and VERY aware that I'm luckily a "lightweight" and would probably not have much trouble losing my weight. I hit some difficult situations (living in a hotel for three weeks and eating out at least twice a day during that time, and living in a construction mess for another two weeks w/o access to a kitchen, so eating out most of the time then, too) and during that time didn't lose much weight but also held steady without much gain, either. (After the first couple of weeks I finally remembered to take my bathroom scale to the hotel, and was able to find out that I was gaining a bit, and once I was able to weigh daily again that stopped. Yes, I am a daily weigher, always have been.)

What this meant was that I have been aware that I "should" have lost more weight than I have, had I been at home in control of my eating and not eating out all the time. I've also been aware that I've done really well eating out all the time, without tracking and weighing most of the time. Yesterday morning I woke up feeing great about how I looked in my clothes and what the scale said, and at noon I got an email reminder that I had a post-op appt today and felt a tiny bit sick to my stomach that the doc might think I'm slipping back into old habits or something....

No problem. He thinks I'm doing great, was astonished that I thought I should have lose even more, and after he heard about the living-in-a-hotel issues was even more positive and supportive.

He had said on an earlier visit that most people don't meet their weight goals but are very happy with where they end up. (I don't recall how he expressed it, but he simply stated what statistics say; he wasn't being negative, just wanting me to have realistic expectations and understand that while the sleeve will help the weight come off, it's up to me to make it stay off.) So today he said something about my being very close to goal (I think I told him on my first visit that my goal was 160).

I grinned and said, "Well, almost thirty more pounds. I changed my goal to 145, and I'm going to get there."

The last thing he said to me before I left was, "Start exercising. You've got thirty more pounds to lose!"

Yep. And I intend to get there. (I didn't tell him that I might even get to 135, which is still very "normal" weight and nowhere near underweight for my height, because good grief, if I hit 145 I'll be within 10 pounds of the Century Club....)

[I'm not gaining weight. I keep lowering my goal!] [I LOVE MY SLEEVE!]
