"I Didn't Die" :D

Thank you all for your encouraging responses to my last post after I went Whitewater rafting on the Athabaska River on Sunday. So much fun and a work out to. I must admit I have not worked out since I had surgery but this adventure is so much fun.
You won't believe what I did next .... On Monday I went for a walk along the shore of this pretty little lake we were camped by about 1 km.
In the afternoon we went to the spectacular Maligne Canyon which I can only describe a beautiful and majestic and the words don't seem nearly sufficient. There are walk maps near the canyon we did the first little loop and said yes we could go farther. The next phase of the walk got off of the paved path and got progressively steeper and woodsier and muddy as the rain pelted down and still we walked and walked taking in the scenery as the steep canyon walls widened into a river that we were now walking along side of And into the forest and still we walked. We arrived at our destination 6.5km later!! I didn't know it was that far!!
THEN we went for ANOTHER walk to Old Fort Point which is a short 1.3 km walk but STEEP they use stairs in parts of the hill and i had to use my hands in some places to make it up the stairs carved out of the mountain side Old Fort Point is a favorite short hike that will challenge your small-summit abilities. Old Fort Point is not for the faint of heart as it does contain some fairly steep grades with great panoramic lookouts, and there is even a stair case to help you ascend the steep rocky terrain. At 1.3 km you climb a very steep section, with 30 m of elevation gain in a short distance, beside an outcrop of the oldest rock in Jasper National Park. The layer is Precambrian, about 750 million years old.
