Reduced to tears and unspeakable joy
For those that I keep in touch with know that my mom had a massive stroke in March followed by TIAs. I"ve been helping to take care of her and my 85 year old dad. They came over Monday - Labor Day - for dinner. Took all of us to get my mom into my house and settled, but it was sooooo nice to be together after her hard journey.
At one point, she looked and me and motioned to come over to her... I said, what's up mom... and she squeezed my arm and said in her little voice, you look so beautiful. She asked how much more I wanted to lose and I told her. She shook her head and said, do what you need to do, but you are beautiful.
As my mom is making her final journey, I will never forget hearing those words from her.
Thankful for the moment and the memory....and yes my sleeve.

Hi Daisy-Rose
I can't believe over 20 people read this an no one responded. Your Labor Day gave you a wonderful memory to keep forever. You Mom sounds like a truly warm and loving parent. It seems you already know that.........make sure you remember it. Some of us have cold, unloving mothers who wouldn't know how to say something like your Mom did.
It seems a little frivolous to say this is an NSV, but it truly is in the very best sense of the phrase. Your scale victories show on your ticker........these loving words from your Mom are engraved on your heart.
Enjoy every minute with your parents............

Your mom sounds like a remarkable woman. You have done a fantastic job and deserve ever bit of praise that comes your way.
I wish my father could have watched me on this journey. He passed away less than 5 months before my surgery. But he had always been supportive of me and knew that no matter what, I would still come out okay in the end. I was with him when he died and that may not be your journey, but I hope it is - in the best way possible.

My heart goes out to you...so very glad that your mother has been able to watch you become your very healthiest and most beautiful self.
I am sure it comforts her and brings her heart joy to know her baby is flourishing!
Thank you for sharing. It's too easy to take our loved ones for granted. I'm gonna give my mom a big ol'hug the minute she comes through the door tonight.
