Seeds during pureed stage?

Are these ok? I made some eggplant dip for my family for a gathering and it has lots of eggplant seeds.  Tiny about the size of chia seeds. I would obviously chew chew chew, but wasn't sure if there was a medical issue?

Thanks!

Ask your surgeon what his guidance is.  We are generally advised to avoid seeds and small nuts until, in some cases 3 months out.  Three months is the generally accepted time frame where scars have formed over the staple line and the wound is at its greatest strength.

Before that scare is fully in place, small seeds and nuts can get caught in the staple line and prevent the scar from forming or worse yet re-open it.  That could lead to a leak.

A lot depends on how quickly you are healing - ask the surgeon.

Thanks for asking this!  I never really thought of the eggplant seeds as "seeds" in the same way I think of raspberries, strawberries, etc.

So -- eggplant, zucchini and cucumber seeds are all "seeds" that I need to keep an eye on!  I could easily see myself going for some baba ganoush and my brain not processing that "seed" info!

Nope- I did ask at this stage.  Things like strawberry seeds etc; are no good for the sleeve at this stage.  Just wait a bit on those :)

Would salsa be a bad idea after I am healed? I have been thinking how good that sounds but what about those jalepeno seeds?

My doctor told me that whatever goes under the strainer, you can "eat", but if it catches in the strainer you must not eat it.

You might want to stick a small amount of dip for yourself in a blender or food processor to help it thin up enough for the strainer.

& Thank you for the warm wishes...it is very much appreciated.
