I have had pretty consistant weight loss. Here's the breakdown. Also, I count my preop diet loss in my weight loss. I see no reason not to count it. I do not include my heaviest weight though. At my heaviest I was just over 350 lbs. At the time I started my preop diet, I was 328. Month 1 includes my preop diet loss...

Month 1 - 35.4 (14 pre op liquid diet)
Month 2 - 16.2
Month 3 - 11.4
Month 4 - 14.4
Month 5 - 11.2
Month 6 - 6.6
Sept. to date: 5.8

If you take months 2 -6 and average them, I have lost an average of about 11.9 lbs/month. I think for me anyway - a 10-12 lb weight loss has been good.

Also, I would still like to lose about 50 lbs. When speaking with my exercise physiologist with the surgeon's office, she recommended at this time that I focus more on the body fat % number. When I started this I was nearly 60% body fat. I am now 41%...she would like to see that number get into the 30's. This will mean more weight lifting over the next months, which means I will see a decrease in my weight loss in pounds per month. That's fine. It's all about being healthy, right? Not just about the numbers. And if I get my body in a healthy shape, then the other pounds will come off more efficiently later. Right now I am trying to keep as much muscle mass as I can.

Every body is different. Be kind to your's. As you see above, the small numbers add up over a long time. :-)

Thanks for the numbers.   I count my preop diet, too.  I lost 15 pounds over those ten days, so I feel like they count!  :-)

I feel much better about my pace now that I see how other people are doing.
