Surgeon says "your weight loss slowed down already"
Um, so I saw the surgeon for my check up (five weeks this week). He asked me how I was doing, doesn't really examine me at all, but he answered all of my questions
Can I eat seeds?: Yes
coffee: Moderately (no lattes with lots of calories of course)
He said I must now get into structured excercise routine. I am good with that. Then he adds
"your weight loss has already started to slow down." It hasn't been significant since surgery anyway, wtheck?
After my post yesterday and the follow up comments I am thinking - huh? Isn't this normal? Like if he thinks this is how it's going to be that really annoys me because I don't believe it. Anyway, yeah, I am going to start structured excercise but geez.

Hijacking this post to talk to HWAG5149... your stats are looking great... My last month was my worst month every only like 5 pounds loss.... I am at 205 this am for a total of 114 lost.. I am detoxing off of the iced coffee as it was extra calories and I think that is why I only lost 5 pounds last month.. so this month is better so far.. miss talking to you hope things are going good for u
That's kind of an odd thing to say - or at least an odd way of describing something that is common.
I'm 3 months out and my surgeon said the weight loss was going to slow for a couple of months, then have another slide down, but that my body would be changing shape and I'll continue to lose sizes. Basically don't pay attention to the scale for a while.

First of all, I thought seeds of any kind were a big no no postop, esp.newly postop like you are, because they can get caught in the staple line. Secondly, you're 5 WEEKS POSTOP, for God's sake. I think you are doing GREAT!!!!!!
Is he purposely trying to discourage you from the outset?? What an ass. You know what you need to do. Use proving him WRONG as a motivator to rock your sleeve!!
((hugs))

I think the comment was a way to motivate me into the excercise portion, but seriously he should know it's common for this time frame for weight loss to slow down. Even I know that because I have seen so many posts on it. Sheesh.
As far as seeds go - don't shoot the messenger but he said there is no scientific evidence that shows there is anything wrong with eating seeds and the staple line issues.

Your doctor sounds totally off the wall. I had surgery nearly the same day as you did, and my 23 pounds since surgery seems pretty fantastic to me, and to everyone who's commented on my weight loss.
I'd say prove him wrong (which you are doing anyway-- I've seen your posts, you seem to have a great attitude toward this whole thing)-- rock the sleeve!
