Rapid heart beat

I was sleeved Monday, home from hospital Tuesday and today is the first day on non clear liquids.  My plan called for 2 week pre op diet of high protein and low carb.  So, I've tried my first few protein drinks today.  The unjury chicken soup went down fine, but during/after 2 other kinds of premade chocolate protein drinks I experienced rapid heart beat.  One was a Muscle Milk and one was Ensure.  I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.  Thanks

I agree; call your surgeon.  I had a very rapid heart rate after surgery & it required medical attention.  They thought it was due to a fluid shift in my body.  I hope you are feeling better in now time!

Rapid heart beat and fever... either of those two things and you should call your surgeon office asap.

I experienced this as well about 1 1/2 weeks post op.  It happened after I drank my protein shake too fast. It was a scary experience.  By too fast ... 8 oz. in about 15 minutes.  Perhaps less.  I had the rapid heart beat followed by massive heart burn.  After about an hour and a half the heart burn subsided and the heart was back to normal.

There have been other times shortly after surgery where I was just moving around too fast.  You get feeling better than you actually are.  It can catch you off guard.  Give yourself more time to get ready in the morning or get ready for doing things.

If your heartbeat wasn't rapid due to over doing it or drinking too fast then I would have to also suggest contacting your doc.
