Feeling like Christopher Columbus..don't burst my bubble
Hey, I feel like I discovered something BIG!! (I know that others have posted about this, but let me have my fun please!)The My Fitness Pal app on my Smartphone is an aswesome way to keep up with my nutrients. I LOVE IT!!
I have been using My Plate (Livestrong) on my computer, but the My Fitness Pal on my phone keeps it right at my fingertips....and it's FREE!! And it has and "easy button"!! You can actually SCAN the barcode on your food and it automatically figures your nutrition information. I have to be careful not to just be eating so that I can scan my food in for fun!! Ha! Just kidding!! Happy app-ing!!

It doesn't.... There are many things you have to input yourself. You can build recipes on there, add new foods, etc. As far as restaurants, they do have lots of info on different food items from restaurants, you just need to do a search for it.
That sounds great! I've been using livestrong (with "my daily plate") since I started this journey, so I feel some loyalty to it. I don't want to switch, even though I have to admit that MFP sounds superior! The iphone app for livestrong is crappy, IMHO.
*sigh* Oh well, I'm commited to the bit. I'm sticking with livestrong at least until I get to goal! :)

Well, "Ms. Columbus", after your post, I decided I would try something interesting with MFP...I scanned the bar code on my vitamins and put them in!!! I've been using MFP for months now and never, ever thought until today to scan in my vitamins. Thanks for your post and giving me something new to scan(don't you love the function!!).
