Vertigo ?????

Ive been having dizzyness issues for most of the year but it got worse in May but my doc keeps telling me its not vertigo...but just an re-adjustment period that most WLS patients go through.

I have that drunk feeling most of the day but its more light headed than dizzy, but any time I stand up/change positions - I get major dizzyness.

For what it's worth, the only time I have no issues at all is when I run...

I hope you can shake it off and get back to preparing for the 1/2  - even though we are basically ready for a taper week :)

Thanks Alison. I tell you, with that run coming up my body better hurry up and re-adjust. I don't have time for this crap. I'll have to give your theory a try and go for a short run in a day or two. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

I  get vertigo every few years- my last episode was last year- I hadn't been sick, just woke up dizzy.

My sister in law who is a nurse mentioned that your ear "rocks" can get wonky and misplaced. Weird. There is a way you can sit up and certain way that can get them to go back- I can't remeber the actual name of the manuever but if you search "Ear Rocks" it will probably come up-

I had an inner ear infections many years ago that gave me a bad case of vertigo...everything spinning no matter which way I positioned myself. The dr gave me a steroid to reduce the inflamation and the vertigo went away. It was no fun. I hope you are feeling better soon!

I suffer from recurring vertigo and was diagnosed with BPPV.  I have small crystals in my ear that disturb my balance.  There is a maneuver that can be done to rid the ear of the crystal...it isn't permanent but it does help.  Check it out!

I got a horrible case of vertigo around this time last year. I work in a hospital so i was able to be wheeled down to the ER by a coworker. There i got zofran for the vomiting through an IV and i got maclizine ( an antihistamine that is used for dizziness). The ER doc sent me to an Ear Nose and Throat doc. they tested for so many things but over time it resolved on its own.
So it was hard to say what was really going on.
I suffer from allergies and i take the antihistamine Benadryl at night. i noticed that when i would forget to take my benadryl i would not get dizzy but i would feel the same way i did before my first episode... it was an "almost" dizzy kinda feeling, if that makes any sense lol
anyway my primary care doc noticed that i was building up fluid in my ear and he told me an antihistamine would take care of that.
well what do u know,  i take benadryl im fine,  i stop taking benadryl im Not fine lol

ur vertigo could be due to many things but try an antihistamine once a day see if it goes away, it could be fluid.
