Tears of Joy!!! Celebrate with me!!
VSG on 01/25/12
I got up at 5am this morning to get ready for work and stepped on the scale as is my usual morning ritual and lord love a duck I screamed so loud that I swear I woke up the entire block on our street!
What a surreal, strange, exciting, frustrating, overwhelming, dramatic, fascinating, and awesome journey this whole process has been!!
This morning the scale said 199.4!!!! Bam!! Just like that I lost the pound over night that I needed to land myself in onederland this morning. I was previously pretty much 400 pounds!!
I can not tell you what this means to me. I don't have a memory that involves me being in the 100's for weight - it just doesn't exist to me. I just sat on my floor and had a moment of pure shock and disbelief then hopped on and off the scale about 10 times just to stare at the number again.
I never imagined this was possible. I believed it was a reality for other people but didn't truly grasp that I could someday be there too! I am so glad I decided to OWN my VSG!
I have now lost 190.6 pounds from my pre-surgery highest weight....and this tomorrow marks 9 months post-op for me! What an awesome way to celebrate the day of my surgery! 199.4!!
I could not have done it without the fabulous love and support of so many people including most of you! So 1000 thank yous to each and every one of you!
A special thank you to the VET's who helped me through this here. My VSG was a complete surprise as I went in for a RNY and came out with a VSG. A good group of veteran VSGer's offered me some sound, incredible advice that based on their success I just had to put it to work for myself. So you folks know who you are and I deeply thank you specifically!
What works for me and keeps me losing over 12 pounds a month even still at 9 months out is 600-800 calories a day, carbs under 40 grams a day, and 80 plus grams of protein per day.
