cottage cheese and....
I always had a diversion to cottage cheese...then my NUT really wanted me to try it. I noticed in my supermarket they sold cottage cheese in different flavors. I like the savory...and they had a french onion flavor one. I tried it and the flavor was really good. I still can't eat it though...its a texture thing for me. Good for you for trying new things!!!!
Powdered dressing mixes...mix those into yogurt for a dip and I'm sure they would work wonders with cottage cheese. I may just try that one today. I got the ranch powdered dressing mix in a shaker type deal.
Another thing I like to add to cottage cheese is spaghetti sauce. When my family makes spaghetti for dinner, I put the meat and sauce on cottage cheese instead of noodles...tastes great! I'm sure that would work pureed too...hot or cold.
I'm a big fan of cottage cheese for breakfast and I hate sweet flavors.
I put garlic powder in mine quite often. You can flavor it like dip, with Old Bay seasoning, a spice mix, whatever. I also like to eat it with a little tomato or sliced cucumber. Sometimes I stir in a spoonful of ranch dressing or even Italian dressing. A recent discovery is to sprinkle a little crumbled feta in it and stir it up.
All these things work for plain Greek yogurt too. Most people put sugar free syrups in yogurt, but that's just nasty to me.
I guess I'm a freak, I don't want any stuff on my cottage cheese. LOL. I really like the Live Active brand by Breakstones. They come in 4oz containers and have live cultures so they help with some of my tummy issues too.
