I love protein drinks, and have had no issues with them till the last couple days.I find now when I drink my protein drink its actually causing me to feel very ill. Has anyone else had this happen? I was sleeved on Oct 24th and did the 2 week pre - opt with the protein drinks as well.

Surgery makes us weird. It took me three months post op until I could find a protein drink that didnt make me sick. you are just going to have to try different ones, because apparently now the ones you could tolerate, you cant anymore :(

good luck

That sucks. This protein drink was so tolerable lol. Boooooo. But I guess a month of a good thing couldn't last forever.

I'm 17 dys post op. Can't handle prot drinks made with powders or RTD. BUT i can handle Instant BF sugar free...add to it half scoop prot powder. I use unflavored by Unjury. It's nice and light and not too sweet. Tis recipe was provided by my NUT. Oh, and i had to switch to Lactaid milk, too.

It happened to me...stomach ache and bloated to the point it scared me and sent me to the ER.  I switched to soy protein and immediately better!  No more bloat or stomach ache. Recently, I tried whey protein again and doing just fine!!!  My sleeve was just not happy with whey protein at first.  Happy she is now:)

Thank you for your post!  I have had the same issue.  My Dr. has heard from me several times regarding this.  They have told me I am either drinking the shakes too fast or that I am taking too big of a gulp.  I have tried several shakes but they all seem to have the same effect.

I also can't stand the flavor of them too.  They seem too sweet (I never thought I would say  that about food).

I tried the Unjury chicken broth and for some reason that didn't settle right either.

I am at the point of giving up!  I appreciate you bringing this up, since my NUT said that she really has not heard of this happening.

Good Luck.

Have had the same issues.  Now I am mixing Max Protein with half unsweetened almond milk, half water.  The World According to Eggface, that wonderful bariatric recipe site, recommended the SEI Max Protein.  Liking it so far, think the almond milk helps a lot.  I am trying the Unjury as well - love sites where you can order a one-serving packet and not have to drop $50 on a protein you may not like.

Try to find a protien powder/rtd that's JUST protein. I realized that the protein supplements that made me nauseous were the ones that had alot of vitamins added.
