Well, I think I officially have to stop wearing my engagement and wedding rings. I'm SO sad about it! I have been taking them off when I exercise for a couple of weeks now, because they literally flew off and hit the wall once. Now they are practically falling off and I really could lose them. I'm debating whether I should wear them on a necklace until I'm at a stable weight and can get them resized, or just put them away for now. I am just worried that somehow the necklace would break and I would lose them. Anyway, obviously I'm super happy that I have lost so much weight for this to happen, but I'm REALLY sad. I've had my engagement ring for almost 9 years and my wedding band for 7 and a half and I feel naked without them. :(

Hi! Well congrats on the continued weight loss first and foremost. That is a bittersweet thing!

I had an engagement ring that I couldn't wear to work because I work in a lab setting and the diamond would always rip through my gloves that I have to wear constantly. So I put it on a necklace. I just made sure the necklace was a very reliable thick one with a sturdy clasp and I didn't wear it while exercising. If it were me I would wear them on a necklace under my clothing (so if it does break at least they may get stuck in your clothes****il I got down to my goal weight. GL hun! :)

Aw, that is bittersweet, but lovely, anyway.  Why don't you go with your honey to pick up a lovely fake set until your weight has stabilized?  While they'll never be the same as yours, you may want to invest in re-sizing (or restyling) only once.  And it could be fun to pick them out together.

Congrats on your success.  Keep up the great work!

I feel you on this as I am going through the same issue. My wife wants me to wear shirts that say, "I am MARRIED!" until I get to goal and get another ring because the one that I have cannot be re-sized. I just laughed when she told me that because I thought she was kidding...however, she was dead ass serious! LOL!

Congrats on your success and best wishes! -Larry

I put mine away until I'm done and then I will resize them. I bought a cheap ring to wear in the mean time.

Just got mine sized down, after months of not wearing them. I love having them on again. Kinda worried, though, I may have to get them sized again when i get to goal. Crazy how fast they get loose.

While I was without a ring, I went to Kohl's and bought a cheap fake ring. Then I went back to Kohl's and bought the next size down. Then I went one more time and bought the next size down.

They were cheap rings, so it wasn't a big deal.

I took my to my jeweler and he put a thing on my wedding ring to make it fit tighter until I could have it permanently sized. It looked like a little metal bar that was attached to the band. Not comfortable but not wearing my wedding ring was out of the question for me.

I had the same problem, and felt "naked" not wearing my ring. Just got a Sterling Silver "fake" on Amazon that I will wear for a while. It's really pretty, and only cost me $50!
