TOM EATING

I've heard women talk about TOM and the way it changes their eating but never experience it. I now know exactly what they mean. Two days before I started this time I was so hungry and had less restriction! Chocolate was irresistible. That's going to be a challenge every month for me!!

I don't keep track of when my TOM is due. But since surgery, I get so hungry and feel like a bottomless pit! So I know it's on its way. Right after TOM, I'm back to not feeling hungry again. It's a real treat being a woman.

I did not have TOM for 3 years before my VSG, and now I am having light ones every 30 days (had an ablation 3 years ago so they had stopped), anyway, I noticed I was so hungry for a few days and then I would start.  I guess it is an ok trade off for the weight loss but at least now I know what it is and don't feel like a failure once a month.  Hormones are a B****!

I had the ablation also so I only know its coming because my craving for sweets becomes unbearable. My sleeve is already on the larger end so I end up having a few "off" days a month. I also get bloated and gain about 4 pounds.

I have very little restriction for a couple of days before my period.  I guess it's hormones doing that.  Really have to watch myself and the junk food.  I find eating saltier proteins (and not chips or pretzels) and eating a little dark chocolate can fix the cravings without too many carbs derailing me.

The day after my period starts, my stomach slams back down nice and tight.
