Protein?
Nothing wrong with eating veggies and fruit. But you should not ever stop eating your protein EVER. You should be able to have both. I eat a little veggies and fruit and still can get over 75- 80 grams of protein a day.

I may not be at goal yet, but the question you ask is medical and not experience based.
The body needs a certain amount of protein to survive. If you short your body, it will rob it from where it can which means muscles and some organs. It's pretty bad when you are protein deficient.
Medically, most NUTS will say you need between 10 and 35 percent of your calories from protein. Problem is that if you are on a high protein/low carb/low calorie diet you can't go by percentages. Men need a little more than women but 50-60 is a good range for a MINIMUM per day once in maintenance.
There are other ways to get protein other than meat. Most are deficient in some type of amino acid and meat is so perfect, but you can eat things like beans to survive. Check out a vegan diet and adjust but be sure to get your protein from somewhere.
Hope that helps.

800 calories and less than 20 net carbs is the shizzle
No, you can't drop your protein. But, as the previous poster said, this doesn't mean that you have to get all your protein from meat. Vegetarians and vegans have figured it out - you just need to research. Beans, quinoa, soybeans, tofu are what I can think of off the top of my head. You also get protein from dairy - milk, cheese, yogurt. Or make a protein drink or bar a regular part of your day to give you a protein jumpstart.
I still aim for around 100 G protein daily. Since I can handle a little more food than before I do fit more vegetables into my diet, but I still measure everything, like 3 oz meat with 1/2 c vegetable, something like that.
I also juice vegetables almost everyday so I get nutrients that way as well.
