The scoop on the poop
I've always been an every morning kind of guy. That all changed when I got off coffee about six weeks before surgery. While I was on shakes, it was alright because the kind I use has enough fiber to keep everything moving and I was taking in a lot of water.
After surgery, I only went every three days or so and it hurt. After a couple of weeks of that, I started to take 2 stool softeners every morning with my meds and I went back to drinking coffee when I wake up. I wake up better and it get's things moving like in the past. I'm back to an every morning schedule.
Once you get things moving again, you might want to consider coffee. It does make your bowels move. Just a thought. Good luck.

Just wanted to let you know this works great for me. At first for about 3 months i only had a bowel movement every 3 days. Then is started eating Greek yogurt with my homemade high protein granola. (oatmeal) High fiber solved my problem i now go every day. I eat about 2 oz of yogurt with a little of this bar crumbled in the yogurt . I eat this 2x a day 1/2 in the am and 1/2 in the pm. I have not had to take any over the counter meds for this. Just a thought that you might like to know. I do have a recipe for this granola if you want it.

I've been experiencing the sublime agony as well.
I hope by the time you read this that you have gotten relief one way or another, and I just want to share what I've been doing to make my life less hellacious.
I've started taking two Senokot S (a senna laxative with stool softener) tablets every other day. While things aren't perfect and can still be painful, it's all at least doable now. So, another remedy for you to try.
I really feel your pain, and hope you are happier very soon!
