With everything going on, I'm feeling nostalgic
I am starting to feel better, myself, but I am concerned for Midget Girl. Not only does she have to have surgery, but they did some testing on her and found that her lungs are only working at 50% capacity. She has to be on steroids for the next 6 months, and has to see a specialist for her asthma. Talk about stress, on top of everything with the school. (Teacher called to explain herself, but I am still going through with a meeting.)
This would be a time for me to grab the goodies that I can't have. I don't say shouldn't, because if I give myself that freedom, I will take it. Instead, I'm getting my comfort from "home".
I'm listening to my favorite cajun music. Hubby and I are dancing with the kids, and just doing things that bring up happy memories. It will at least take my mind off of all the BS that has been thrown our way. Can't let it win...just can't.
((hugs)) sorry about the kiddo struggles..
I do something similar when I'm stressing.. either put on music and dance around or do some stretching.. or pack a small backpack with nibbles that are good & healthy and head out to a park to walk around and listen to the birds. Pop a seat by a tree and have a lunch, de-stress- then come home. Of course this only works on days off, but at work I'll pop into the file room for a 10 min movement/stretch break.. I've gotten good at doing pushups & dips off the racks in there, and it keeps me out of the peanut butter most days.
So glad to see you are feeling better. I am sending prayers your way for your daughter. Yes keep that meeting to show them that you mean business.
And what kind of cajun music do you like? My favorite to dance to is a local band here (Lafayette) Rockin Dopsie, Jr.and Zydeco Twisters. Really gets your feet to tapping, lol.

You survived what you thought would kill you. Now straighten your crown and go forward like the Queen you are!
I don't know much about cajun music despite the fact that I have family in cajun country, but my husband and I love to put Hank Williams on and dance to Jambalaya every time I cook it. Talk about a feel-good song!
This one's for you. You're rocking that sleeve!
And yes, I know he wasn't a cajun so this technically isn't real cajun!
You can make it through all of this - I am here in your corner. {{HUG}}....BTW, I really love your frame of mind. That's the place where I am too....I can't eat those foods, just like any other addict. I have started rewarding myself in other ways and turning to non-food things for comfort. I'll be thinking of you, especially over the next several days. I hope the surgery goes well and that your daughter gets well soon.
Did I tell you that YOU ROCK?!? Seriously, keep up all the great work. Turning away from emotional and stress eating is the hardest part.
