Dumping?
I believe I may be developing dumping syndrome. Any other VSGers have it?
I get panic attack feelings, racing heart beat, nausea, cramps, sweats, fatigue, etc. that last about half an hour to an hour sometimes after I eat and then sometimes have to go to the bathroom.
And no, it's not only when I eat sugar. I think for me it's when I've eaten too much too quickly or maybe the food was too rich. Today it happened after I wolfed down some peanuts for lunch. Last time it happened I ate some of my kid's ice cream on top of my already full lunch of a hamburger patty. I know peanuts and ice cream are not exactly the best choices, so it's no wonder I dumped. Maybe I'll learn from it.
Just curious if anyone else does this?
There have been two times that I have had this feeling and it was after eating too much pork chops! I ate it off the bone and did not weigh it. You said you wolfed it down so that probably had a lot to do with it. This is probably your bodies way of telling you to cut it out!
I have now learned to weigh everything and to cut my meat off of the bone.
You can dump with the sleeve, according to my nut. She said that if you take in too much sugar and that spikes really fast, when you come down you crash.
I know you said it's not "only" when you eat sugar, but it sounds like you might be consuming some things high on the glycemic scale and that is really playing havoc with your insulin.
So yes you can dump and yes you did. Stay away from bad foods and it will stop. Good luck.

I think it's because our stomachs are kind of touchy early out. Anyone can dump even people who haven't had WLS. But a cut up healing stomach isn't a normal stomach and it seems to me from watching the boards that people go through a period, usually in the first 6 months to a year where their tummies over-react to things they put in it and that includes dumping their food too soon into their intestines (which is what dumping is).
