What are food funerals?
Ok so I ordered a large thin crust pizza tonight n ate 3/4 of it myself. I have surgery in 3 1/2 weeks and I over indulged and feel sick afterward. But it was sooooo yummy. But it might be one of the last time I can eat pizza like that. Is that considered a food funeral? I noticed since I got approved for surgery I've been over eating much more than I usually do. Even rice last night to feeling gross. My 2 week post op starts in 1 1/2 weeks so I'm mourning my favorite foods.
Yep that is it. My pre-op diet started on the 4th of July so I had a food party the day before. Then I was depressed for the first 3 days of the diet. Right now I feel great but I regret those days that I could have been adding to my weight loss. I now realize mourning food is completely ridiculous.
That definetly is a food funeral. I had them at all my favorite restaurants before surgery. This went on quite awhile. I don't regret doing this at all. But when the liquid diet started for 2 weeks I did NOT cheat at all. Now 7 months later I am down 77 lbs. I weighed 275 now 198. Not bad for someone 66 yrs old. Now I can eat anything but in moderation.
It's when you purposely pig out on food before surgery because you "think" your eating life is over.......much like the last meal before the electric chair.
The big part about this process is to establish a new and better relationship with food. I am more into food and satisfaction from food much more now than before surgery. It's quality over quantity now and it's a much better way to go........
Some people say that food is just fuel...... if that's what it takes and you can roll with that..... awesome, go with it, your on a positive path.
I like eating good most of the time. Simple clean meals full of flavor is very satisfying!!! Do I eat tuna from a can on occasion.... yup!
I guess ya gotta do what ever ya gotta do to get it outta your system......just remember.... gorging on food is how most of us got fat......
