So my whole stomach is itchy... some around my incisions, but mostly where I was wearing bandages... apparently I am allergic to the adhesives used. What should I do to relieve the itching? I normally take warm baths... I cant do that now. lol

The aromatic substances in a lemon contain anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties, which may help reduce itching. If nothing else, you'll smell good. Squeeze undiluted lemon juice on itchy skin and allow to dry.

Aloe Vera ... Trader Joe's sells this in a 99% pure form and Target (with the sunburn stuff) sells a 100% pure form of aloe vera.

Also you can try a benadryl cream ... Walgreen's sells a generic form using there own name as the brand name.  When thinking of allergies I think of benadryl.

Just some thoughts.

I had a rash on the front and back of my abdomen about at the same point you are at. Others have reported the same. I peeled off what steristrips I could and put on non reactive band aids. Topical treatments like Benadryl gel did me no good. I got approval from doc to take liquid Benadryl. Two nights of that at bedtime and it was well on its way to going away.

Benadryl cream is perfectly safe. I had to take oral Benadryl for a reaction to my pain meds that made me itch!

Sorry about the itchies!  I would try some type of aloe gel or spray.  I'm afraid of rubbing too hard on my incisions.  Do you have any bandages left on?  My steri-strips are still on my incisions.

Take a bath in olive oil (if you can bath) about a 1/4 cup with warm to cool water not to hot...but be very careful getting out you will be a slippery little thing...it helped me a lot...
