God is in this...

I was on the treadmill this morning, trying to pull my week together, ( my thoughts and focus are all over the place on any given Monday) and I began to think some about Sunday service, AND- being scattered brained, remembered many times in the past, when sitting in church, I would have the following wishfull daydream...

I'm sitting in the pew (at, say, 345 pounds) when, all of the sudden, God's finger is upon me and He manifests a for real Biblical Miracle - the Red Sea parts...The loaves and the fishes...walking on water...you know, a really BIG one, and I literally melt down into my size 5X clothes onto the floor in front of me. The whole church congregation is amazed! What has happend to Bonnie?! And I stand up, a bodily transformed - 200 pounds gone from my bones- a mirical of God. Instant size 10- Humble, I give thanks to the power who could do for me what I could never do for myself......

How silly is that? But, I'm telling the truth- more than several times have I dreamed just that scenario. This morning, on the tread mill it hit me- my heart in my throat, overwhelmed with emotion- that The miracle HAS HAPPENED! For me, God is in it. He is the one who's strength and love and discipline have taught me just those things...I just wanted to thank him, today for my life.

Bonnie - I once heard someone at an OA meeting say that GOD stands for "good orderly direction" :-)  He has certainly given you that and you are following it to the letter!

We get so caught up in the daily "doing" of this program that it catches us when we realize we have actually DONE it!  I had a moment like that a few days ago where it struck me that I'm actually going to make it this time.  As in reach my goal!   Very emotional...

Bravo on all your hard work angry

Praise Him!!! God is sooooooooooooo faithful.  My VSG is my miracle, too, but the addictive eating (flour/sugar) is NOT gone.  I am still asking God for help, still trying to beat this thing....very weird thing for me.  I got Baptized in Christ 3 years ago.  I am a Christian now - was not raised in that religion.  But, I was binging the whole time, face down in the flour/sugar.  Why God?  I still need a major miracle to take care of myself and eat in a way that honors my body, and Him.

.I am so happy for you and moved, i've teared up a bit.

Faith is a big part of my life and I thank God everyday for the obstacles as well as the blessings He gives me daily.

Last Monday, while sitting at the kitchen table I was reading about asking God for what you need. I took a moment and prayed and asked. Ten minutes later..my phone rang and it was the Dr office telling me that my surgery was approved by insurance! AMAZING.

It is wonderful to know He always has His hand on us.

Have a wonderful day!

This is a beautiful thought.  Yes, God is in this work.  We are blessed that WLS exists and that we have a treatment for obesity.

Boy do I relate!  You have indeed been transformed.  Not in the way you saw it unfolding in church, but a divine hand was certainly there helping you while you did all the the day to day stuff to manifest the transformation.
