Stall? Already?
I am 2 weeks post op and the first week I was dropping pounds and now that I'm on "soft foods" now I'm seeming to gain weight. It's like my body's hanging onto every morsel. And I'm not even eat that much! I don't get it! Please tell me I can still loose weight on "normal food" such as eggs, creamed soups ect. So frustrating! I didn't do this to not loose weight!

You will lose again. I was told not to weigh daily and also take your measurements too so you have a starting point. When I've had small stalls, I measure and it really helps me feel better. I track my food on Myfitnesspal as well. I used to use this site but MFP really is better. A lot of people from this site are on that site so it's nice. Good luck. Let me know in a week how you're doing!
My Nutritionist told me not to expect to lose any weight between weeks 2 and 4. People here call it the 3-week stall. Our bodies have a lot of readjusting to do after surgery. We lose a lot of water in the first weeks after surgery, and our bodies need time to re-balance and catch up.
I had to shift my thinking and realize that every day that I follow my program, I am losing about 1/2 pound of weight, whether or not it shows on the scale. There are so many factors that affect the scale number other than fat loss.
So keep the faith, stick to the plan and the scale will show the loss in it own sweet time.
best wishes,
Carol

I'll go one better. You haven't stalled until you are on full foods! Your body is healing. All kinds of things are happening. Don't worry about what the scale says, just make sure it is going in the right direction and by that I mean not up!
stay focused. The scale is just a measuring device and only means something week over week and month over month, not day to day. The key to not stalling early out is water. Not 64 oz, that is the minimum. 100oz per dy nd more when you start exercising.
If you're keeping food and liquids down, then you appear to be doing better than you were. Take that as a sign of progress!
I've been told that we can stall each time we move up in food progression. The body has to adjust to the changes at the same time it's trying hard to heal.
Try to calm down. Get your fluids in, and eat according to your plan. You are not experiencing anything that the rest of us haven't experienced.
Understand also that in the immediate postop time and perhaps for weeks afterward our emotions can be quite strong and changeable. The term "roller coaster" comes to mind. Just try to settle down and do what you're supposed to do. I think you will feel better if you can work toward that.
Perfectly normal, focus on fluids, protein, rest and walking to encourage healing. Follow your Nut's diet progression and you will be fine. It's hard not to fixate on the scale. Shift focus to measuring other victories like your size and exercise improvements. Be sure to track everything in myfitnesspal or something similar. It's very helpful to look over your logs and go, gee, I'm really ontrack despite what the scale says.
