Water!
I am two days out of the hospital. Got all my walking in and water yesterday. Today water has been really hard to get in, been burping and hick upping like crazy and sweating a little. Only about 32 oz today. Am I going to be ok, I don't want to get dehydrated! My stomach feels like it cannot hold another drop of water. I am still having a lot of incision pain also, but no fever and no nausea............. Will I be ok? Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance for any help.

You'll be fine - I went through the same thing. It was 3-4 days until I could even get near 40 oz water and 40 Oz protein (which is what my NUT told me to focus on once I freaked about the water). I was not able to get the recommened protein or water until at least 1 week post op. (I went back to work 1-week post op - it was a fullness thing).

Hi,
I also had trouble getting my water in. I was getting in only 40 ounces per day for weeks. I never had serious dehydration, but I did watch for symptoms like less frequent urination, dark color of urine, dry mouth, headaches, llight-headedness, etc. I'd suggest reading up on dehydration and then watching for the symptoms and calling your doctor if you are concerned. Other than that, keep pushing the water, and you should be fine.
Congratulations on your sleeve, and best wishes for your weight loss journey.

I could only take in about 20oz of water for the first 3-4 wks. I will be 2 mos on 10/5 and I still haven't hit my water goals. I can get in about 50oz/day right now. Just try to do the best that you can!
Plain water is giving me fits. Burping, gurgling, incision passion...
Trying to be patient. We'll get a little better every day!
