Ah Ha Moment..... Foundation....
Ah Ha Moment........
This is not for everybody....... some folks have there own agenda and their own realty...... and everyone is allowed to make your own way through this...... Go for it !
Some haters will even turn this around and say that I'm telling you that you are doomed....... nothing could be further from the truth......
At group last night I had a realization ........ One of our members mentioned of some challenges she was facing with a new job, new schedule and new life/lifestyle after WL and into maintenance.
She explained about the long hours and un predicable schedule and the "traps" of non planed eating and having to regain control........which she did in a hurry.......
This is not an uncommon story..........
The Ah Ha moment was realizing that "of course" she reeled it in...... she has the "Foundation"..........
This could be the exact point where somebody that does not have a solid foundation will let the wheels fall off the wagon !
I look around the room and I see a top bariatric surgeon, a top bariatric registered dietician and at goal and maintaining vets.........
We saw this person come to 6 months of pre-surgery(insurance) meetings, had surgery, lost 130+ pounds in a year and has been maintaining for almost a year.........
In this environment....... she has a very well built foundation..........
First, the credit needs to go to the surgeon for building this environment/program/practice.
Not everyone has this experience.........
But the message here is to build that foundation !!!
Learn from and where you can !!!!!
Learn from the experienced, Googlers tend to be all over the place, like a sprinkler head !!!
Foundation is a simple core of basics........ easy to learn, easy to understand and always a bit harder to follow through on...... but you know what's up.......
The foundation that you build during WL will play out in your maintenance ..........
WLS is not really about the WL....... WLS is more about keeping the weight off that you lost.........

Great post! It's tough when people don't get this solid foundation. I'm wondering where I would be if I hadn't found this site... I don't think my weight management clinic does a bad job; however, I feel as though they give very liberal guidelines or advice at times. Maybe they just didn't give many to me because I was getting so much information elsewhere - who knows!
