At what point do you buy new clothes and get rid of your fat clothes?  I packed away my summer clothes last night.  It was kinda sad.  I am a clothes *****!  I'm going to miss some of my favs.

I bought a ton of smaller clothes before I had surgery.  The minute I dropped a size, I packed up my bigger clothes and Goodwilled them!

It was hard for me to give up some of my fat clothes, too.  Most of my clothing went to Good Will within a few months of outgrowing it, but I saved a few of my favorite things until the next fall.  When I tried them on, I had to laugh at myself.  They were so huge. There is no way I'll be wearing any of it again.

You'll know when its time.  If you are not sure now, there will be no doubt in a few months!

Best wishes,

Carol

Not sure where you are at in the journey but it's a simple rule:  As item gets too big put it in a stack.  When the stack gets too big give it to goodwill.  LOL

it ain't going to fit any better later, and at the top end of the process you aren't going back there ever.  Cut the cord.  In fact, go get that box of summer clothes and put it in your car for goodwill tomorrow.

Look on the bright side, you get to totally redo your wardrobe.  I literally have nothing in my closet that I started with.

And redoing your wardrobe is one of the best things about this process!

I'm a clothes ***** too, which means I have a good selection of clothing in smaller sizes. We recently moved into our own home and when I packed up stuff I organized my smaller clothes into piles, then bought some gigantic Ziplock bags put each size in them and labeled them so they'll be ready for me to grab when I need them.

I don't have any clothes that are non-plus sized, so once I get near "regular" sizes I plan to buy some things. Probably from the Goodwill, consignment stores, and clearance racks until I get to maintenance. Whatever that size is :)

My clothes are starting to get looser, but they were TIGHT, so I imagine it'll be a bit longer before I'll get to pull out the next size down. I can't wait to get rid of stuff as I shrink.

I bag them up as I try them on and they don't fit. I've got a good stockpile of 'smaller' clothes I can go down to, and once I'm past them I'll think about buying.

But yeah, I think of a couple bits of clothing I have and am sorry to give them up. I have one evening gown my husband actually picked out and bought for me a couple years ago. it really is lovely and was flattering on... I will like wearing smaller things, but the thought he put into picking it out meant a great deal to me. No matter my size, my husband has always made no secret of how much he loves me and how much I appealed to him. (Although, since I've lost the weight... sheesh... can't keep him off me! Not that it's a bad thing. LOL What will it be like when I'm down to the size I was when we married? I can't wait!)

Now is a good time to clean out. You can donate the clothes and write them off on your taxes. :-)
