Starting Puree tomorrow I need recipe ideas!
Honestly, I'm not much of a cook to start with and the small amounts of food I could eat on puree didn't exactly inspire me to want to start making fancy things. I kept it really simple. Some of my favorites:
Eggface's Ricotta Bake:

I made a half recipe and it was still too much, I couldn't fini**** before it went bad.
refried beans with melted cheese, poached eggs, cottage cheese with a spoonful of peanut butter stirred in, Greek yogurt with a spoonful of peanut butter stirred in.* And I got a lot of those little packets of flavored tuna and salmon and pureed them with sauces I liked. I also used canned chicken (buying a whole chicken and cooking it would have been crazy, especially since I live alone). Some of my favorite meat purees:
sweet & spicy tuna with sriracha sauce, lemon tuna with remoulade, lemon dill salmon with olive oil mayo, chicken with marinara sauce (try nuking it with some shredded mozzarella cheese), chicken with curry sauce, turkey with peanut satay sauce, pulled pork with low cal bbq sauce (also really good for chicken or hickory smoked tuna).
I wasn't allowed any fruits or veggies on puree stage so I have no recommendations there! High protein foods only.
*definitely check with your program to see if peanut butter is allowed. Many find it too high in calories etc. I only used small amounts and made sure it fit my macros for the day and it didn't cause me any problems.
I just started my purées yesterday. So far I've done a progresso light soup that I added some canned chicken into and puréed, and I tried some ff refried beans mixed with Greek yogurt and low fat cheese and puréed. Both were good, but I noticed 2 things. I bought a single serve blender because I knew my portions would be so small and not worth using the whole blender. It smoked upon first use, so I have to exchange it, but in trying the regular blender and the food processor, I discovered that the food processor is bad for leaving chunks and the regular blender wastes a lot of food by splattering all the way up the sides.
I made a variety of things on pureed, but my favorites were:
- Chili made with lean ground chicken, lean ground beef, black beans, pinto beans, spices, & home canned tomatoes then topped with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt (tastes like sour cream)
- Garden veggie soup made with lean ground chicken, cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, onions, & mushrooms.
- Bean & ham soup
These were all pureed, of course. Chili was the best, in my opinion.
-scrambled eggs with feta (a dash of hotsauce if you can)
Pretty much lived on that for two weeks along with the shakes and yogurt.
