The pre-op liquid diet is the hardest part.  If you can muster your resolve and get through this part, you'll be so happy once the weight losses start accumulating.  It is easier after the surgery because your whole digestive system shifts, and your capacity will be reduced.

So hang in there.  You are going to be so glad you did!

I am also on day 11 of my pre-op diet and have had a really easy time until Tuesday with food cravings and being hungry and it was only being up close and personnel other people eating that I think started that thinking.  I started having a little fantasy about ripping my friend's sandwich out her hand and then it transitioned into a food porn fantasy of me encouraging her to continue to eat the sandwich and then I realized she was talking to be for a while without me knowing or responding to her and felt weird and a little embarrassed.  I am now realizing maybe eating out with friends is going to be much harder for while so I need to come up with other things we can be doing other than play cards at the restaurant.  I am just now starting to get a little anxiety about the drain I don't know how I missed that in all my appointments.  Can anyone tell me a little more about it?`

The pre-op diet is the hardest part. Trust me when I say that after your surgery it will be different. For dinner tonight I had 3 shrimp & two bites of green beans. I was full and eating any more than that seems crazy now.

Did your doctor way you'd have a drain? I thought it was pretty rare.

Anyway, it will all be worth it!  You can do it! Your so close to having life changing/life saving surgery!

You're hungry now, it goes away after the surgery. You eat such small amounts and the hunger goes away, the foods you have fill you up. I am four months out of surgery and eat such minute amounts and get full so easy. If I go to a restaurant and get a regular portion size, what I used to be able to eat in one sitting, now that lasts me four meals.

All you need to do is find other activities to occupy your time. It sounds simple and essentially it is. Instead of thinking about food, read a book, take a walk. Don't walk fast, go slow even if it's just around the block a few times. Take a friend and mall walk around the lower level.

There is n art studio in Peekskill, take an art class...check out Club Fit, they have a local hiking club...

The Hudson Valley has a calendar of all events that take place in the area year round. There are plenty of things to do in the area that can help you not think of food while you're waiting for your surgery date. That's what helped me get through until I had mine. Best of luck.
