I have to say, I am proud of myself today. The assistant principal told me she left a gift of appreciation on my desk. I went into my office and it was a tin of homemade chocolate cookies, snowballs and chocolate candy. I was VERY tempted, but I closed it and gave it to my folks. It sat on my desk all day and I didn't eat one piece. Let's hope I can do this on Christmas day when my mom makes her homemade sweet potato pie!

Good for you!  Personally, I usually find it easier to say a firm no to all the goodies, as opposed to trying to limit myself to just one. And saying a firm no to absolutely all the unexpected stuff that manages to get in front of us at this time of year??? Priceless.

You know, I know that a firm no would work best for me. I have had to finally admit that that is going to work best for me in the long run. I have made a commitment to myself to use the "Firm NO" approach for the remainder of the work week.

I am always greatly impressed by those who have already learned this approach and are able to practice it with fidelity! Props to you!

That's a great decision Kairk. I find that making the decision is actually the hardest part.

Thanks, I agree. I have to go cold turkey on carbs and things that trigger me to eat too much. Maybe I can learn to be able to take a bit or a small piece without going overboard.
