Scary hospital visit
Gall bladder is very possible. I had an attack where I thought it was my heart.....center if chest. Anyhow, any amount of fat set it off. I know you're in low fat but they even discouraged me from any milk products.
Sounds scary, try not to be hard on yourself for calling the ambulance. Do take care, congrats on your progress!
I think you had a bad case of heartburn or gastroesphogeal reflux (gerd). I get them all the time and yes, sooo painful. Feels like a heart attack....I was just in the hosp last weekend bc I did think I was having a heart attack but all tests negative....Got a pain shot and eventually left....Was admitted for the heart problem....
For me it is food or drink (water) doesn't matter what kind....I have to slow down more myself.
Hope that helps....I have my gallbladder but blood tests should rule that in or out.
Good Luck and eat slowly. alese inFL
I have also had two incidents similar to what you described - cold sweats, lightheaded, pain - then gone in 15-20 minutes. I do not have my gall bladder & the "attacks " are similar to what I remember with my gall bladder. Unfortunately, I've also had a heart attack & this is different.
I'm thinking something gets stuck in a bike duct & then moves on. I'm going to see the gastro & cardiologist in January & will try to get some answers from them - my blood work looks better than it has in ten years so I know it's not my heart.
Good luck to you - hope it doesn't happen again to either of us!
I will offer up another possibility; one that I have suffered from in the past. Constipation. It starts with gas pain, and escalates to the point where I will feel like vomiting, break out in a cold sweat, and ultimately pass out if I can't relieve myself. It's called a vasovagal response, which causes low blood pressure (which is indicated by the dizziness, cold sweat, and ultimately fainting). Other than a nasty bump on my head from fainting once, no long term effects.
It's generally nothing to worry about, although every time I have it I think I'm dying! These days, on a high protein, low carb diet, I monitor my bowel movements carefully. If I notice the start of constipation, I take a dose of Miralax to head it off.
Just another something to think about! Hope it never happens to you again!
