Time to learn how to deal with frustration
I did the same thing, was 230lbs went down to 209 pre-op, 60-80g of protein totally cut carbs, 100oz of water. Supplemented protein drinks for meals, 600 to 800 cal a day. The protein drinks kept me from hunger, the 10-day pre-op diet was easy, all liquids and now post op on the 10-day liquid, it's just part of the process, certainly not exciting.
You will do great!
I'm preop and doing my own thing with the knowledge gained by reading A LOT, too. Sticking to about the same stats you are - 1200-1300 calories, 70-100+ grams of protein, and 100-120 ounces of water. For carbs, I try to stay under 60-70 grams (most days I actually aim for under 50). I cut out all white carbs - potatoes, pasta, rice, and bread. My weight has gone up at times. Give it some time and you will see it come off.
You are doing a great thing by trying to lose weight before surgery. You are awesome for wanting to start to change your habits now!! Keep working at it. Know you are a not alone.
Thanks! It does sound like we are doing a lot of the same things! Good luck to you!

I am preop and usually stay within 85-100gms of carbs daily, 115-130 grams protein, 120oz water and I have lost 26 lbs since mid December. I do not lose steadily, I will wiggle around the same pound for a week, then gain a pound, then lose four overnight. Makes for frustrating daily check-ins on the scale, but at least your weight is going down, that means you're doing the right things!
Hi Ginger, I am preop too. I eat around 900-1200 calories daily. At least 90g protien, 40-50g fat, and around 40-50g carbs. Like someone else mentioned, I would try and cut your carbs. The only carbs I get are what are in veggies, dairy and meats. Carbs are trigger foods for me and once I get started on them (bread, potatoes, rice, pastas), it's over.
It is great you're exercising daily, I am not motivated whatsoever with exercising.
Don't give up, keep up the great work!
