When could you eat an egg?

I'm allowed to have a little bit of PUREED scrambled egg at 3w out.  Yes, scramble, then puree, then eat about 2 spoonfuls.

I have not attempted it yet.

I am amazed at how some diet plans are so different from others.  My clinic is really conservative with progressing to different food consistencies.

I ate almost a whole scrambled egg at day 8 post op. But....I took a bite, chewed it like crazy, then waited 3!( long) minutes between bites ....following the same routine.  Eat, chew like mad(30 times minimum), swallow and wait 3 minutes....another bite and so on.  Went down fine.  Maybe try eating slower?  That's the one thingmy Nut is always saying.

Eight days out would be too early for a whole egg.  You CAN eat too much as the nerves in the stomach have been cut.  That is why it is SO important to measure every thing.  It doesn't matter how well you chew, we were told 1 minute.  I could only have 1/4 cup until 4 weeks out.  With solids you need to measure in a cup not by weight as your sleeve is volume not weight.  We also couldn't add eggs until 2 weeks out.

I realize people are unfortunately given different programs.  I wish they could figure out one "right way" or at least close.

I am posting this as I COULD have eaten more at a time too.  I didn't feel "full" the first two months so was so glad people here gave me this advise.  (talked with nut at 4 weeks and she says, you were told to measure for a reason)

Yes, we could have up to 1/4 cup(1-2oz)  protein per meal 3X a day.  Plus 2-3 protein shakes for snacks.

I appreciate your concern but I did measure the egg(1.1 oz cooked) and my nutritionist said it was okay.  I ate almost the whole thing comfortably and that means just under an ounce for my meal which is protocol (1-2 oz).  I merely stated my experience(as asked in the post) which was not done blindly.  I am following my program to a T and I am in touch with my NUT regularly. Every person and every sleeve is different. Please think twice before you tell someone they are doing something wrong.

And for the record... the majority of my scrambled egg fits in a 1/4 cup measurer.  :)

Thanks everyone. I'm going to back off a bit. I ate out of a 1/2 cup measuring cup today (my kids made fun of me). I left a bit. I think half a cup is still too much for me. I vomited once and almost two other times - so it's a good message to ease up and slow down

Yep, that is double what we could have.  I ate out of my 1/4 measuring cup because I didn't want to waste any in the cup putting it on a plate.  The last thing you want to do at this point is vomit/almost vomit.
