It's nice to feel excited about food and cooking again.  After three and a half weeks of liquids!  I'll be cooking the following dinners this week.  Vegetables will be added based on what looks good at the store so don't worry, my family does eat them!  I'll be skipping the carbs at these meals and just pureeing the meat part.

1. Shepherd’s Pie

2. Lamb Burgers w/ Cucumber Yogurt Sauce (I figure the burgers should puree well with the tzatziki added for moisture.)

3. Sloppy Joes

4. Butter Chicken Curry

5. Leftover Night

6. Slow Cooker Pork Chile Verde

7. Meatballs (The meatballs I make are super moist, but I figure I can add in a little bit of marinara if they need to be wetter to puree.)

I'll also be making Lamb Liver Pate at some point.  We've got a lot of lamb in the freezer right now.  (We buy lamb, pig, and cow in bulk from a local farm.)

What will you be cooking this week?

Your menu sounds wonderful - It makes me hungry and I just ate! (smile)  I love getting ideas from posts like this!  thanks for posting this.

I also plan my eating by the week, but then I eat the same dishes for days in a row!  Yesterday I made a Ham and Green bean casserole.  Today I'll be making stuffed green peppers and a chicken dish with sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes, and zucchini in a pesto sauce - yum.  Tomorrow I'm going to make pork chops in a mushroom wine and cream sauce.  Then I'll eat these 4 dishes for most of the week.  I also have roasted cauliflower and a cucumber salad in yogurt sauce, and I'll add some green beans with pine nuts mid week.

I've been enjoying cooking healthy low carb meals.

best wishes,

Carol

Your menus always sound really tasty.  :D

Could you share your recipe for your ham and green bean casserole at some point?  Are you only cooking for yourself?  I can't wait until I can eat solid food!!

Your menu sounds delish!  I am 2 weeks out tomorrow and I have a different list of foods I am allowed to eat, but nothing needs to be puréed.  Isn't it crazy how with the same surgery the after guidelines are so different? My menu consists of egg, cottage cheese, cheese stick, cooked veggies, yogurt, wheat crackers, etc.  not that I can eat muchof any of these things.  But your menu sounds much better than mine!!!

It is totally crazy how different plans are from surgeon to surgeon!  I had two weeks of full liquids and now I've got two weeks of pureed foods.  I "can" eat anything, but, of course, I'm trying to keep to protein rich foods!
