Smelling foods & hunger

At 5 months post op food smells are becoming more enticing. For example, my teenage son wanted McDonald's fries (Yes, I know..but he is underweight due to a rapid growth spurt) and damned if McDonald's didn't just cook up a fresh batch. Ugh. I had to ask him to refrain from eating them in the car as they smelled way better than they should have. Something similar happened a few weeks ago when I smelled a delicious steak being cooked. 

I'm not experiencing any food triggers yet, but as you have read, it's a distinct possibility the further out I get. Between months 1-4 post op smells of food didn't do much for me. YMMV.

Thank you all for your thoughts and experiences. I don't have surgery until mid June but am starting to think about how different situations will affect me.
