August sleevers?

Im glad you like the thread. I always like to know others who are going through what i am. It helps me stick to things too knowing i have someone to account to. 

Wow your so lucky to already have a surgery date and not be done with your preop tests. Did your insurance already approve you or are you self pay?

I am self-pay, so I didn't have to get clearance from insurance. I have great insurance though and just missed the cut off by 10 pounds. My surgeon and I both knew on my initial weigh in I would not get the insurance. I didn't have any co-morbids to qualify for the 35-39BMI. He wasn't expecting any surprises and he was correct. I was cleared very quickly by all the specialists. I was really dreading my upper GI yesterday, but I was cleared right after they did it so I am glad my surgeon is super safe. I did have to do all the tests that everyone else does for safety, but they scheduled surgery because they had my timeline of dates and knew I would be 100% complete with all my tests over 2 weeks before surgery.

I am scheduled for August 20th and I know what you mean about nervous and excited.  I can't wait for it to get here, but until then, I'm working really hard on making the changes I need to before the big day is here.  Good luck to all my fellow August sleevers!!

I am scheduled August 19th.  Robitodd we have the same surgeon. But here is another lady I know from Nova Scotia having her surgery on the 20 th as well with the same surgeon.  Nice to get to know a little bit about others that will be there at the same time.  More comforting. 

Good for you!! im affraid ive been doing a little too much of the food funerals. Mainly soda. I know i wont be able to have that so Im enjoying it a little too much.

I feel the same way. Nervous, excited, generally "freaked out"  most of the time. My surgery is July 22, so even though I'm not an August surgery, I wanted to comment here because I really need to connect with other pre-opers. Best of luck to you!
