The "Art" of eating a Hamburger !!!
I'm finding that creativity is key to learning your way in this lifestyle......
Some may find this way to odd..... and some may even do this or even have another way.......
I have been doing this for a couple years now and it works pretty well....
I'll try to s'plain it.
First off, I've ordered just about everything that comes with rice or bread without..... but sometimes I just get tired of explaining something that is so easy that becomes a custom big deal order. Some places do it up great.... others not so great.
I saw a kid at a London airport eating just the meat out of his burger..... with his hands he just pushed the meat forward..... I thought frickin brilliant..... than I thought the skinny little kid is a natural low carber.
So now if I don't want to special order a bun-less burger..... I just order my burger with lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard and do the push-out method I learned from the kid in London !!!
Get my ground beef a little salad......eat about half.....close it up..... clean finish......

What a great work around! Sometimes I am entertained by the reaction when I order an appetizer and nothing to drink. Sometimes I am irritated by the food pushers and sometimes I just tell the server that I had weight loss surgery. It just depends on my mind set that day I guess. You just gave me another option to deal with the eating out saga. Thanks!
Cool! Hadn't thought of that. Will give it a try. I usually order a burger just the way it is on the menu and then put the bread in a napkin and eat the meat and fixin's with a fork. That or if the place offers a lettuce wrap I will do that. I don't usually order burgers out, just cuz, but sometimes you just gotta! This will be a good method to try for those just gotta times!
Great idea. Sometimes, Mike & I will splurge, order a burger, and cut it in half. When we do that, it is always from a great burger place. If we are going to eat part of a bun, it needs to be from someplace worth watching everything else we eat for a few days. We are not talking fast food here. It needs to be from Hodad's in San Diego, Slater's 50/50 in Rancho Cucomonga, or a place like that. No fries, just burger (with bacon of course). But considering that we have to drive 1-3 hours 1 way to do this, it doesn't happen often.
Usually when I go out for a burger I go to Red Robin and I have a close relationship with one waiter there who is the best. He knows I'm about to have surgery some time soon and he is excited for me. He is all prepared for my special order. LOL
It's nice to know I won't have to explain to much at least there but other places will be another story.
