Hi everyone I am 6 weeks post-op today and I am a stomach sleeper I can't stand to sleep on my back I have a back injury from a accident but the other night I tried to sleep on my stomach I felt funny and a little nervous I was putting to much pressure on my stomach do you think I need to wait longer before sleeping on my stomach?

At six weeks post op you should be able to sleep on your stomach just fine without issues.

The back sleeping will get better as the weight drops off.  Remember, stomach sleeping is actually the worst for back health.  It goes back, side, stomach for the best back health.  Although, I couldn't handle sleeping on my back either until the belly went away.

I am the same way! I asked my surgeon about it at my 4week check up and he said it was fine to sleep on my stomach. 😊

Should not be an issue at 6 weeks post-op :D

Funny note - I used to be a stomach sleeper too, but now I can't because my stomach is so differently shaped!  It's no longer as comfortable as it was 90 pounds ago.

I was sleeping on my stomach/side about 6 hours after my surgery.  I asked the nurses/doctors if it was ok and they gave me the go ahead.  You should be fine at 6 weeks :-)

As you know we had the same surgery date (whoop), and I sleep on my left side and put a lot of pressure on my tummy. Every once in a while it feels sore but it's usually fine.

6 weeks should be fine.... I'd just maybe start off with a pillow under your tummy to see how it works the first night!!! Good luck sleep tight !!! :-)
