Itchy hands and feet
For the past week (week 4 after VSG), my hands and feet have been itchy like CRAZY! Especially the palms and soles. What the heck? And I am in the 3 week stall phase. I have been lax with my walking and water. I am going to up both to see if I can get the weight loss going again. HAPPY FRIDAY everybody.

I was terribly itchy after my VSG. My legs, my arms, my back (in particular!) and my stomach. I mentioned it to the team at my center and they thought I may have had a mild allergic reaction to something while in surgery or in hospital post-op. We're not sure what, but it definitely wasn't dehydration!
I would suggest you mention it to your clinic. Mine told me to take half of an allergy pill to see if it relieved my itch, and lo and behold, it worked like magic! Whew! Relief at last. Talk with your center. I bet they have suggestions.

Seems to be a side effect or either Ketosis or a low calorie diet. Comes up frequently enough. It goes away as your weigh settles into it's final range.

Dry skin can definitely a cause for itchiness and if you're not getting enough water that can certainly be the cause. You might also want to up your intake of healthy fats, which your skin needs.
But it could also be an allergy.

Hey Dawn I'd defiantly try to get more water in.... this happened to be before surgery and also after ... my palms and feet the itch and burn at the same time... I have hypersensitive vasculitious ... it's a sever allergic reaction to sulfur !!! So there are traces for in garlic ... so when I eat garlic or something with garlic in it ..even bbq this is what happens ...
So please ask your dr.. it's probably nothing but ask ... cause ts never know... and better safe then sorry... good luck !!! And your doing great !:-)
