Can I have pasta that is cooked really soft for soft food diet?
Is it on your list of approved foods from your dietician/surgeon? It wasn't on mine, but that's because pasta has too many carbs, not because my dietician thinks it will physically injure a patient. I had to eat foods that I could easily cut with a fork for soft foods, and well-cooked pasta would seem to fit -- if I were allowed to eat anything with grains in it!
Ditto what mickeymantle said. Recommend you avoid the pasta indefinately. It's not worth the issues it plays with your weight anyway.

Pasta was on my approved list for soft foods, in fact at my 2-week check-up, the surgeon asked if I had tried pasta yet. I was surprised because I didn't think I was ready for it. I waited about a week and tried it...I eat it rarely even though I never have trouble eating it.

I'm going to be a whole lot harsher than anyone else has so far. The answer to this question is "ABSOLUTELY NOT!" And even though I would defer to most doctors on what you should eat, if your doctor says this is acceptable then they are leading you down the garden path.
Your stomach is incredibly small right now - meaning it's prime real estate. You need to ONLY put food in there that is super-high in protein, vitamins or minerals. Pasta doesn't fill that bill now and never will.
If you want to eat pasta after you get to goal weight, fine and dandy. But it should not be a part of your post-op plan during weight loss mode.
