Too many carbs in Slim fast and Special K. I agree, my favorite is Premier Protein, I get mine from Sam's Club. Just found the strawberry. 30 grams of protein!!

Premier Protein  the ones  you listed are crap for you to high in cals for the protein you want around 10 cal per gm of protein in everything you eat or drink , do not buy to much as taste changes after surgery I loved the vanilla pre op but hate it now

you can also put sf Italian  soda syrups in it to change the flavor

You think they're nasty because they ARE nasty. All of them are nasty when compared with regular, non-high-protein shakes. :) The good news is that you get accustomed to that nasty whey taste pretty quickly when you start regularly having protein shakes. Experiment with the sugar-free coffee syrups (Torani, etc.) and adding other things like unsweetened cocoa, flavored extracts, etc. You'll figure it out! But don't expect to like them...it's more like I "like" them. ha!

Take a look at the ingredients on so many of these shakes and you'll find words you can't pronounce. Personally I like About Time because the are cleaner. You can doctor with a bit of sf Torani syrup for added flavor. Good luck!

Just discovered the strawberries and cream premier protein. YUM! I was never really a strawberry flavor fan, but it's so so good.

I was doing the pemier protein before surgery and making myself after... my tastes changed and I had a hard time finding one I like.  Everyones tastes are different and even your tastes will be change throughout the process.  Currently I'm drinking Syntrax Nectar, depending on the flavor they have 23-25 g of protein, 0 carbs and 100 calories. :)  Good luck finding one you like.... or at least can tollerate.  I had a hard time with this, but let me just add that since I have started getting all my protein, fluids, vitamins, staying under 40 carbs a day, getting at least 80 grams of protein and exercising daily... I feel fantastic!!! Log everything in a program.  A lot of people use My Fitness Pal, I didn't find it very user friendly, so I use Fat Secret.  I track everything!  Imagine that... I'm doing what I'm supposed to and I feel great and I'm losing weight. ;)
