Been way too long, back at it to vent because. . . yep, I gained.
Your words of encouragement are so sweet! Thank you!![]()
I am successful, I am still down an overall 109lbs. I lost the majority in the first year and a half. You don't know my past, or my history of being obese even as a baby. So, I can take it. Especially from ones who are clueless as to everyone's specific journey.

My comment wasn't directed to you Rissa -- but rather to Ubeserved. The reply is under his posting and not yours.
I am very well aware of his posting history, which is what elicited my response.
To you Rissa -- I wish nothing but good things. You are experiencing what so many of us over two years out do -- and it seems you are on track to get it back to where you are happy. Sorry if you misunderstood my response. Again, it was directed to who I replied to and not you.

If you read the thread ubserved is talking about the people responding wasn't talking about eating a sandwich, they were talking about using food as a reward/treat for whatever accomplishment he achieved. Using food as a reward is a slippery slope, but no not everyone goes down it.

Oh boy. A perhaps much needed reminder why I left OH to begin with. Thanks for the reminder to just stay out of this **** :)

I agree with you. I had sandwich. Or 2. Then some more carbs... And before I knew it I was up 20 lbs from where I wanted to be. So now I do try to warm others. Because the 20 lbs 3 Years post op took me a long time to lose again. Gaining was so fast And easy...

I get it. It's usually not the sandwich that's the issue...it's the behaviors that surround the eating of the sandwich (or whatever carbs it may be). I don't have a clue about the other thread that's reference here, nor do I want to get involved but I'll just say...it's important for people to share their experience in a positive way that may help others. Thanks for sharing your experience and hopefully someone will read it and avoid the same mistakes. :)

Have I eaten pasta in the last 11+ years, absolutely yes, is it a staple of my diet? Absolutely not! I can gain just by thinking about it (well, almost)
I am by no means perfect, and noone should expect us to be in the long term, but carbs and beer are paid by weight gain and I applaud you for fessing up. Too many know-it-alls think they will NEVER regain or are absolutely certain they will reach goal weight because you know, they're 8 weeks out and didn't gain from their club sandwich
I lost every pound I needed to (and then some) in under six months and I am one of the very few who are this far out without regaining almost all the weight they lost (and yes, i believe the statistics show that more people regain a large proportion of the weightloss than dont!)
Every mouthful we take is a decision, especially the further out you get!
Good luck with getting back on track

Kudos to you for losing all of that in a short time! I was semi sarcastic with beer and carbs. I do love beer, however I hardly drink any. For a month or so I realized I was having 1 glass too often, so I stopped. Now its rare. I may taste it but I am so picky that its not worth it, plus it saves me money. I gain thinking about pizza! I love pizza. I treat myself every so often, but again for a while it got out of control with tasting too many carby things. I stopped 90%. the other 10% is rare a month. Carbs are never a staple in my diet. If its a carb its a food that is healthy that has its own carbs say a half a banana every few days in a smoothie. Or 1/4 of a sweet potato. But that's hardly ever. I don't eat full sandwiches daily, or pizza, or Chinese food, etc. No way. But occasionally I would catch myself salivating thinking about pizza. I would have a slice or 2 in a day and then that's it. I replaced the 'lasagna' with the recipe from Shelly , baked ricotta. I find alternatives if I get that craving (during the time of the month).
Thank you. I just found it odd that the WLS dr I saw, basically said it was normal to gain after losing so much in a short time. I didn't like that answer.
I have a trip to Walt Disney World at the end of Feb. That will be a tad difficult, but I went to WDW 3 months post op and did perfectly fine and I was eating almost normal foods by then. So I already know what to steer clear from.

I love the "I haven't had any pasta in 3 years' people. LIAR LIAR. lol
I haven't eaten pasta in two years. I do take it one day at a time -- so I never say that "I will never eat pasta again" -- but for today, I certainly will not.
I am not a liar.
