H1N1
I was told it would be a good idea because if we altered folks got the vomiting and tail in running stuff and it got severe we would need IV fluids. They actually gave me the mist version! I work in a school district and I honestly think it hit our district early October based on how many kids I had out that week. Hoping I had some exposure to it already and the shot/mist will just build that if its possible. Curious to see what do the nurses and other pros here have to say.

I don't consider myself high risk as, unlike the other posters, I do not work with children or as a help care provider. I do get the regular flu shot, but since there is currently a shortage of the H1N1 vaccine, I think it is more important that those who have been identified high risk get it first. Maybe when it becomes more accessible, I will get it.
But as one poster mentioned, if we get any flu, it is especially important that we take care of ourselves quickly--being careful of dehydration and vomiting. So while I normally wouldn't go to the doctor for just the flu, post-op I would if I felt I was getting dehydrated.
