180 pound weight loss in first year !
No other surgery's done other than a hysterectomy in
2011 due to bleeding and severe anemia due to my
WLS , I feel great ! And maintaining my weight nicely
at 140 pound
My own experience has been not unlike yours; a huge initial weight loss and then several years of battling. My surgery (Sept 2005) absolutely changed my life however and I couldn't be happier. I moved out of state to a new job about 18 months ago, and that seems to have been a good trigger as I've lost another 30 lbs. in that time. My total loss is now right at 166 lbs., and there's room for more. The thing I need to avoid is the full-sugar soft-drinks. Good luck and keep at it!
Try cross posting on the VSG forum for more answers, not many people come here.
As to your question, I don't consider myself a slow loser & I really didn't care if I was. I don't have a breakdown of month to month. It's coming off, that's what matters. For me the point was to lose & get healthy. I didn't gain all my weight in a year, so it didn't matter to me if I lost it all in a year. It's the small & big changes that I've made that will stay with me for life that matters most.
Sometimes it is hard to not compare yourself to others, but you must try. This is your journey. Some people are really gung ho till they get to goal. I'm not one of them. Slow & steady has worked for me.

Good afternoon all you sleevers,
I have a question. I am loosing weight at a very very slow pace. (when I say slow I really mean about 10lbs a month) I started out at 327lbs. I have been loosing about 7-10lbs pounds a month. I am only 3 months out. I want to know how much you lost per month. I have heard that weight loss slows overtime. Is this true for us as well? We're already loosing at such a slow pace.

Wow its been a journey. Lost 110 in the first 9 months, kept it off for the first 5 years but have been battleing the same 20 pounds ever since. I gained 20 pounds within a year, went to weigh****chers lost it at least 4 times. I am currently a weigh****cher member once again. Its taken me 3 months to lose 9 pounds but Im working on it. After my surgery I thought my days of dieting would be over but they were right by saying its not a cure its a tool. My husband always remarks at how much I can eat, im sure my pouch has stretched. The only thing that makes me sick are sweets, which is a good thing so I pretty much stay away from them. Im sure Im not alone in this journey, but I am happy I had the surgery. Debra
Congrats on your 11 years! I'll be at 10 years since my RNY this summer. Can't believe it! Time flies. I agree, tough and tricky, but definitely worth it!

Thank you, I wasn't sure where it should go. I'm sure cross-posting is discouraged, but I'll go ahead and throw it up on one of those pages. Mods may feel free to close this thread or delete it or whatever.
If you haven't already done so, you should post this on the RNY and the main boards.

Glad to see you checking in. Our starting weights were similar. I am 7.5 years out and it is good to see people further out posting. OH is still my go-to spot to keep me on-track. Balance is definitely going to always be a struggle for me, but I keep working at it.
Here's to many more healthy happy years for all of us!!
