Lap band??
HI kristina,
I am scheduled for Nov. 9, one of my best friends had it just a little over a year ago and she's doing well, 78 lbs to date, she started at 323 and is now at 245, she was a size 26 and is now a size 20, she didn't even follow all the rules and no exercising. I am a beliver of activity so I plan on still doing aerobics at least 3 days per week and I am confident it will be a journey but it will have results! best wishes Kristina!

HI.
This is my 1st post, but I thought I would put it to some good. I am a 25 y/o male. I live in SoCal. I had my Lap-Band installed on Feb 20, 2006. To date, I have lost just over 100lbs. My docter tells me that men lose weight faster, but I didn't expect it this fast.
I will tell you, I didnt follow my instructions to well. I mainly cut my calories. I was intaking about 700-850cal/day. I was getting only food protien, barely taking my vitamins. I haven't noticed any changes in my labs, but I have since increased my vitamin and protien intake.
The weight loss for me was rather dramatic. I lost 20lbs in my 1st month. I was losing an average of 13lbs a month. My decline has slowed recently, having lost about 20 lbs in the past 2-3 mos.
Hope this helps.
Kristina -
Hi! I had the Lap-Band at the age of 24 on 12/8/04. Everything went great till about July... I ended up with a blockage. In serve pain and no drinking or eatting, constantly puking. Had that taken care of and everything was good again. Till November where I had an emergency revision done (11/8/05). I lost 111lbs in 11 months and my band slipped down... (most band patients should not lose 100lbs in 3 years). However since I have had the revision things have been wonderful!!
You go in for fills and you really have to watch your sugars and carbs. You still dump...
