YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my approval today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I need help deciding on a date.... I can pick any Tuesay after November 27th.  Here's my issues...

Leave for Hawaii December 1st - Leave Hawaii December 9th.  He suggests a low fat, soft diet for a week pre-op with clear the day before.  I think I could do that in Hawaii.  Fish is soft / seafood is soft and I don't like butter (if I had crab).  And I could even start clears on the 9th as I will be on a plane all day anyway.  So that would be clears the 9th and 10th.  I was thinking surgery the 11th then.  Think I can do it and still enjoy Hawaii?  I then planned on taking off until December 24th. 

My other choice would really have to wait until after the first of the year - January 8th.  I am on-call for work on New Years - so any later than December 11th is really pushing the lifting abilities. I really don't want to wait until after the New Year, but I will if I have too.

The other down side to December 11th is my Nurse Anesthetist.  The guy I want to do my anesthesia (my best friend) will be in Hawaii still (I am going for his wedding and he will still be on his honeymoon).  He is not very happy about me having this surgery, but at the same time, he is my best friend and I know he wouldn't let anything ever happen to me.  Worth the wait?  I trust all of my CRNA's, but just love Matt to death. 

I don't know what to do... I want this done - and I could wait until January and start the new year off with a new life.  What would you guys do?  I had myself talked into December 11th, but I think I am taling myself into January 8th more and more. 

Give me your thoughts please.

CONGRATS on the approval!!!  Personally I would wait until January and party it up like a rockstar in Hawaii and enjoy it.

I totally agree! Wait til Jan and party it up in Hawaii! You dont want to get sick, feel tired or sore when you could be having a great time! New year, new you!

Congratulations....I agree, wait till you get back, the first month or so can be a little rough, so enjoy your trip, and then start your new life when you get back...

Yes, I agree with everyone else! Wait til January.. I think that you will be glad you did.. You can enjoy Hawaii, and the Holidays. Party it up for New Years, and then hey, you get to take more time off in Jan. And in the end I think that your friend will feel more of a part of your decision if you wait for him to be there for you...  Tarka
