I'm Aprroved!!!! Finally!!!

LoL.. Ive been waiting for the day to say that I am approved. Finally after everything I have been through and all of the hopps ive had to jump through its over and done! I cant believe how ecstatic I am!  When they called they asked if I would do my surgery on July 1st and I said that was really soon but that I would take it! ... THEN.... I thought.. oh sh*t! I havent lost any of the weight. I was supposed to maintain my weight, but I wasnt able to because of my thyroid. So I had to call her back and she said that she cant schedule me until I lose the weight. I told her that if I do a liquid diet that I can have it all lost in 2 weeks. Also my dad got approved on Monday but since he was a smoker the surgeon wants a chest x-ray and some kind of nicotine test to make sure he has quit smoking. So we will probably be able to do it together on the same day. Now we probably wont have our surgery for 3-4 weeks. But thats ok...  Im still excited! But now im worried about losing the weight... YIKES!

Wow,  congratulations! I know you've been waiting anxiously for a LONG time for this. That's pretty cool that you will be having surgery at the same time as your dad. Just don't try to keep up with his weight loss because for some reason guys almost always lose a lot faster!  Are you still unsure if you will be kind of alone down there, or now that your dad will be there will you guys have someone down there to help advocate for both of you? BTW - that nicotine test is for real, I had to quit and then it still detected nicotine from one piece of nicotine gum I had chewed the day before (I didn't know they would ask me to test that day) so i had to repeat it again before they would do the surgery.

Thanks guys!  Still not sure about doing it alone. We are still trying to fiqure it out. My dad and I might just go down and then hubby can come the day after surgery so that he can drive us home and doesnt miss too much work. I think my grandma and my mom are going to watch my son while im gone that week. It will all work out.  My hubby tried the Chantix for 8 weeks and it did NOTHING for him.. His dr. finally took him off it... Still smoking.. YUCK!  Thats crazy about that nicotine test. My dad has been a smoker for 25 years and this year he has cut down ALOT. He only smokes like 2 cigarettes a week. It should be no biggie for him. HOPEFULLY!  Thanks guys! Im really excited. I really didnt know what was going to happen. Just yesterday I found out they didnt even fax everything to the insurance like I thought they did 3 weeks ago! So I got my answer in 1 day.. thats freakin awesome!

CONGRATS!!! Soo happy for you!! You will lose the weight, don't worry. The stress of getting approved is now gone, so when you do the liquid diet, that's one less worry to keep the pounds from dropping off! You will do this and the weeks will go by before you know it!!!  Don't worry! It'll work out, you'll see!
