Hi everyone,

I am in the beginning stages of my research of WLS.  I am 26 years old, BMI of 49 and have decided to look at my options for WLS  (yo-yo dieted since I was 14, Slim Fast, Weigh****chers, Curves, Atkins...etc...)

Just wanted to introduce myself :)

Also, I am leaning towards DS, and noticed that there are not alot of DS girls on the In Your 20's board, just wondering if there is a reason?

hi- taking a stab at your name- jenn?

welcome to the board. good luck on your research. I think the general reason why there are less DS people on the board is that DS is a less common surgery these days, nothing too conspiracy-like. At least in the US, RNY is called the "gold standard" and therefore it's what the majority of the people have.

I'm 21 and have dieted much like you... although I ususally did low carb ones when I was dieting, and Ive never done weigh****chers.

There is a DS board too, which may have more help/info when you have those specific questions we may not know. thanks for introducing yourself to us, hopefully we'll hear more from you soon

Thanks for the welcome.  I was just wondering about DS just in case it isn't use much for younger people, I have pretty much decided on DS, so wanted to make sure I didn't have any extra road blocks with getting it covered :)

Hey!  Welcome to the board!

There are some great DSers on here- they know their stuff.  I personally had RNY.

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

hey jenn, wellcome to the board. here you`ll find a lot of people who had or are having the same experience as you. you gonna love it.

I`m a RNY´er. but reserch more about the DS. it sounds intersting. the only thing it`s that is kindda new procidure and there is not more information about long term results. but i think it`s a very good option if you find a good surgeron. it definidly should be in your top list. keep the reserch.
see ya around. and wellcome again

mariana.
