Being larger we have alot more weight to lose and yes it will take longer than the "light weights" but I wouldn't change a thing. I used to be saddened that in six months I had only lost x amount of weight and still was shopping at Lane Bryant where everyone else was already at the Gap.
Now, I know I couldn't become the person I am today without all of the trials, heartbreak and greatness I've been through :)
Now, goal weight. How tall are you? I'm 5'10 and have noticed the weight itself is different at various heights. I have wanted to be 160ish ever since the beginning. Right now I'm hovering at 210... I would kill to see 199... but as long as I'm still toning and losing inches slowly, I'm going to appreciate the abilities of my body.
PM me if you want to, Sweetie. I totally understand what you're saying.

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

When I was preop I studied people's pages who had a BMI over 50. There are a lot of motivating people on OH. Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions. ~ Leslie
No worries!! Everything will be okay. You will lose. I am actually 247 and I am only 5'2 24 years old. So the weight on me is alot for me. I have diebetis and PCOS. I have been trying to get pregnant for 4 years with my husband and have had no luck. I am hopefully going to have the surgery in Feb. And honestly I just want to be healthy. I have felt the same way as you.. I have felt like I wont lose or I wont lose enough, but I guess you just have to be optimistic. I think we all have our days. I dont like to leave my house.
But you will get through it chick!! Let me know if you need anything. Everyone has there own struggles, and it always seems like yours is the worst, but there is always someone out there struggling more.
Luvs ya,

HI,
I wasn't quite to 350 when I had my surgery, but I was close, 333lbs, at my highest. I'm thinking that alot of people with high BMI's have wls. Another thing is you might want to consider that alot of these people that have supposedly lower weights are shorter and may have the same BMI as you do.
Another thing I want to tell you is that I had been overweight my entire life, and I had no idea what a smaller weight looked or felt like. I just wanted to get as small as I possibly could, and thought that If I didn't reach this "perfect" weight then it really wouldn't be worth it.
I can't tell you how far from the truth that is. I am curently about 26 pounds away from my orginal goal, and still in the overweight category for my height, but I feel, and look so fantastic. I weigh 189-193 (I fluctuate) right now, and am so happy with it. So Yes I think you can reach your goal, but I also think that even if you don't get to some Perfect number you are going to find yourself much better off than you thought.
