my vomiting/nausea experience

so i had mentioned in my one month and one week post that i had been vomiting frequently with meals and some liquids. on easter evening i began vomiting even with water. scared i'd become dehydrated i came to the er and have been admitted ever since. they ran a gastro test on me as well as some xrays and a catscan and found no leak and no obstruction to my pouch. the doctor said its rare for his patients but he did have one other patient who just frequently vomited with food and drink and he's prescribing me a nausea med but said i can't take it with every meal- just when its really bad.

i think its the foamies because it gets stuck first and then i puke it up with foam. same goes for liquid. has this happened to anyone? does anyone know what i could do differently? i've chewed slower, i've eaten softer foods. i've tried everything.

thanks for reading. heres to hoping they release me from the hospital soon!

Did you have an EGD (scope) to see if you have a stricture?

no, they did a cat scan and the test they do right after surgery gastro something? and it concluded that there were no obstructions leading to my pouch. the doctor didn't want to do an endoscopy if he knew for sure nothing was in the way.

You can't identify a stenosis or stricture without an egd. The upper gi (x-ray with barium) is just to check for leaks. If solid intolerance/ vomiting has been an ongoing issue, there is no doubt that you have a stricture and need an endoscopy. I have had a few repaired.

the CT scan would also show a stricture and it came back normal. as did my gastrografin swallow which would have shown it as well. i'm going to try to slowly move back into swallows and see if i'm doing any better.

Are you sure a ct would show a stricture? Did your surgeon say that?I thought it could only be seen when they do an endoscopy.

hope you get better

that's what multiple doctors including the doctor who took the ct scan and gastrografin swallow said. i do feel somewhat better. i hope its over too. even still, no regrets. i'm down 50lbs and i feel wonderful so far otherwise.
