Good morning!

I had a perfect day yesterday, because I did exactly what I felt like doing. I got up at 8am, went and bought my flowers. I puttered around the yard, cleaning out the flower beds, read the paper, ate pasta salad, planted some bedding plants, read some more newspapers I hadn't gotten to this week, and finished with some time in the hot tub. Nothing earth shattering, but all of it on the I want to do that to do list.

More of the same today, as I still have a lot to plant. But first coffee. The only snafu to yesterday was a big garter snake curled up in my one sunny flower bed. There are too many snakes in our yard this year, because they keep showing up in spaces I don't want them. I didn't see it when I was backing up last week, but I ran over a huge one in the driveway. I can deal if I see one slithering through the grass somewhere, but if one keeps showing up in the flower bed DH may have implement the final solution.

Looks to be sunny and pleasant, getting close to 70.

Sounds like a perfect day for planting! EEK, snakes though!

We are in full-on getting ready to leave mode. All clothing to pack is staged on the beds in the guest bedrooms. Time to start stuffing the suitcases. I am adamant about not shipping anything this year so if it doesn't fit it isn't going. But we are going to do some fun things today: Out to lunch at a tiki bar, then our outdoor music venue. Tonight we will eat out at the Beach Club one last time. We don't have to feel too pressured today as we don't have to leave for the airport tomorrow until 6 pm. So we can finalize packing and cleaning tomorrow.

Have a sunny Saturday!

Sounds like you have the move up north under control. Enjoy your music venue and dinner at the club. I hope there's some decent weather when you get back on the Cape.

DD, your things I want to do to-do list sounds wonderful, and I'm glad you completed your list.

Liz, after all my back and forthing between MO and KY these last few years I know what your seasonal relocation Cape/European/Caribbean packing list must look like.

And Peps, I'm glad you're spoiling yourself a bit this weekend. You so deserve it and more.

Today we 2 octogenarians are power washing the roof, second floor windows, gutters, and external trim on the house. We went to the local hardware store this morning to buy some paint (for planter saucers) and rope to tie ourselves to the house so we don't hit the ground if we fall off. And yes, we're taking other safeguards.

Our plan is to move furniture in the week of June 10. Hope it happens. That's all I got.

Power washing = so satisfying. We are in the process of determining if buying an electric power washer would meet our needs. I mostly want it for the outdoor furniture. Scrubbing it by hand with a brush and hose just isn't getting it done anymore.

It's awesome for mold, mildew, dirt, dust, and is amazingly satisfying to use.

P.S. I can't imagine maintaining any home with bricks, concrete, limestone, cultured or other kinds of stone or hardware, decks, even big expanses of glass without a power washer. Besides if/when you need to repaint porches decks and porches you have to power wash them first to clean them well.

I find that power washing unlocks hidden OCD: everything looks so clean you start wanting perfection and keep trying it elsewhere. Lots of work though so in recent years I had hired other people to do it if there was a lot to do.

No weight for the weekend as we are in Door County,

Got some pics of the cherry trees in bloom on our way to dinner last night. Dinner at our favorite restaurant was very good albeit too much. We shared 5 different appetizers and DH also got a cup of lobster bisque. We had baked Brie with fruit, scallops, tenderloin bites, oysters and crab cakes. DH definitely ate way more than me but both of us were stuffed to the gills. Honestly, I hate the feeling of being over full now.

Art fair today went really well and I still have tomorrow. I probably didn't bring enough inventory of my cards and I finally sold one of my bigger wall prints in metal.

Dinner out was good. Still very full but not overly stuffed like last night. I got a salmon pasta dish on a garlic cream sauce with a lemon lavender ****tail. So yummy! Thankfully DH was able to eat at least a 1/3 of my dinner and we still had food left on the plate. He got a salad and nigiri and then minion mine!

Sounds like you all are having a great Saturday doing things you love!

Sounds like you are making some sales and enjoying your visit there. Hopefully the second day will go as well!
