You should set a definite date for your trip to visit your friend so the time won't slip away! And I too suffer from overdoing the cleaning before company. Obviously the basics like bed and bath have to be up to snuff but no one cares about much else.

Liz it sounds like you're hitting all the highlights in London. I agree with Diane, even the most interesting of big cities is still a big city, and requires a lot of energy to navigate.
We had a nice brunch this morning, and now the others are out on a bike ride. There were some half serious suggestions that I should rent an e bike and join them. No thanks. I am a little curious about e bikes, but I would never make my first outing in a city, or with 3 experienced bikers. And heaven forbid I would fall and break one of my hips with the thinning bones. I'm not sure bike riding is for me.
We went for brunch around noon. DS got up at 5:30am and went fly fishing, then had enough time to come home and take a nap. I love that he does this. It feels so wholesome. His new apartment with his lovely girlfriend is full of windows, light and surrounded by lots of trees. He seems very happy and peaceful.
DD just texted, and her move has started by them bringing a few things like lamps and dishes over via car. Her movers will move all the big furniture tomorrow. So they will probably sleep in the new apartment tomorrow. Other exciting changes.
I'm back at the hotel while the bikers are riding. I need to start nailing down a few more things for the Scotland trip. We already have the reservations for the end of the trip in Rockport MA and Ithaca NY. I'm not sure why I'm struggling so much with the Scotland trip. I guess the logisitics of trains, planes and ferries is kind of daunting. I'll get there though.
We rented e-bikes in French Polynesia and I liked them. The ones we had were pretty lightweight so felt like a real bike. I wouldn't be comfortable on the really heavy ones. A friend of mine fell on one of those and got really scraped up. I looked into the price of the ones we had and they were quite expensive. Not sure we would use them enough to justify that.
I am with you on planning and arranging connections - too overwhelming for me. That's why I always used a travel agent previously. But DH is good at it and took care of all of that for this trip.

123.7, up a bit.
Art show went well today. Sold small and medium sized items. It all adds up. We are pooped though and didn't even unload the cars. That will be on tomorrow's docket!
Liz, good thing your trip is winding down. You sound more than ready to get home! I love that you keep your Sunday morning breakfast date no matter where you are! I'm hungry for out to eat breakfast! Eggs Benedict and hashbrowns sound good. May have to make a breakfast date with DH this week!
I had eggs florentine yesterday for breakfast. They were great!
